The Dancing Tree... (Click on any image to enlarge it)

The 'Dancing Tree'  was located in the beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada in Northern California.  This particular location is clearly a place that time has forgotten and its stunning beauty and utter seclusion inspire me to visit there often.

Although merely a reminder of the mighty oak she surely once was, upon first sight, there clearly seemed to be something more than familiar about her.  Circling her trunk, I stopped when I came upon this particular view, and then all at once it hit me...  Its form seemed almost identical to Elaine Benes doing her hilarious contorted dance in the 138th episode of the American television sitcom Seinfeld which was titled "The Little Kicks".

Can you not still hear the music playing?

There are seven images in this series but several more had been planned.  Sadly, 'The Dancing Tree' met her final fate during a severer winter storm in early 2019 and thus she is no more.  Ironically in the midst of that storm and on that very same day, my vehicle was overtaken by a flash flood causing a near-death experience as I was rushing out to see her expecting to create  "Rain Dance" which is now no longer possible.

I am however deeply grateful for the very many hours, both in daylight and in darkness, during which I was able to find profound pleasure simply by standing at her side, camera in hand, and waiting for the light.
